The weekend is built around the Wim Hof Method's three pillars: guided breathing, cold exposure, and mindset.
These weekends are for everyone. Whether you are a complete beginner, or already experienced and looking to take your practice further, you are welcome. As a certified Advanced Instructor, I act as both your host and your guide.
Having these two days together gives us the time to go deeper, refining your technique and building a routine that supports you long after you leave.

Heyford House is tucked away in the Cherwell Valley, a peaceful spot surrounded by nature. It has been my family's home since 1965. Today, my sister and I run this former Rectory as a dedicated space for restoration and learning. While it retains the soul and warmth of a family home, it offers the standards you'd expect from a professional retreat. You aren't just booking a weekend away; you are our guest, with the freedom to find your own space and the comfort to truly let go.
Flexibility is key for a successful group experience. Nothing is fixed in stone, but rest assured, everything is taken care of. Here is how weekends usually flow:
Saturday
The history and the science - We start out in nature. Whilst we get to know each other a little, we’ll talk about Wim himself, the history, and the science behind the method and ending the morning with a guided breathing session.
The Wim Hof Method in practice - After a light lunch, we’ll decide together on a short group activity, followed by a guided breathing session to get our mindset ready for the cold. Then, the first ice bath.
Afternoon break - After the ice bath and warm-up, we'll have a hot drink and something home-baked from Sonya's kitchen.
Contrast therapy - After afternoon tea, we’ll explore contrast therapy. This is an informal, optional, session where you can experience the sauna and a little cold to create that perfect therapeutic balance.
The evening - We finish the day with dinner and a chat around the fire.
Sunday
Breathing and breakfast - We start the day with a guided breathing session before we sit down for breakfast.
Into nature - In the morning, we will head out into the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, returning home in time for a light lunch.
Going with the flow - We keep the Sunday afternoon flexible. We’ll decide as a group how best to enjoy the time based on how everyone is feeling and the weather. A wild swim is one of many options we can explore, safe river conditions allowing.
Afternoon tea and farewells - Before we head off, we’ll pull everything together with a final debrief over afternoon tea.

My wife, Sonya, brings a lifetime of culinary expertise to the table. A pioneer of the UK gastro-pub revolution, she wrote for The Guardian, led some of the Cotswolds' most celebrated kitchens and now leads the kitchen here at the house.
For us, she will craft lighter dishes using fresh, often local ingredients to nourish without over-burdening digestion, never compromising on flavour.

Heyford House, Church Lane, Lower Heyford, OX25 5NZ

Settle in the night before, or extend the calm the evening after in one of our four en-suite rooms at Heyford House. Rates start from £120, with a 10% discount applied to the Friday and Sunday nights.

I aim to have everyone sleeping here at the house to keep the group energy flowing. This involves carefully matched room sharing, but if you prefer, or need a private room, I will arrange this for you (at no extra cost), either onsite or at a lovely hotel nearby, with transport included.
Once booked, I will contact you personally to finalise your room choice, dietary needs, and health details. Heyford House is a safe, inclusive space and I will accommodate any specific needs regarding gender, privacy, or simply your comfort with strangers.
